Original owner 2001 Expedition, 25 years since purchased new. I can unfortunately tell you that the digital readout is “close to” accurate but not totally. I would not pursue perfection in this case.

My point was that AFTER you changed the ambient air sensor, it may not display the correct ambient temperature when the engine was first started - and that driving a few miles should cause the correct temperature to display (as you posted in #8).

I’m glad it was an easy fix.
My bad. Yes, you were correct. The computer has to learn the new sensor, I guess.
