I've been chasing this issue for a couple weeks now, and we just confirmed this is it. My local, trusted shop (not the dealer) initially estimated the repair at $1000+, which includes 10+ hours of labor (removing the whole dash). But I'm not sure that's correct yet.

Hey @99WhiteC5Coupe you were correct, this solved it. About $2000 later (ouch!) it’s fixed and working better than ever.
